Am I able to change the white background color myself? I cannot find the file where this is written. (It’s a bit hard to find out in IE8 without tools i’m used to use 😀 )

You can change that in the theme options panel under skinning section. You can change colors for many elements. We have given custom css section where you can add your own custom css and avoid altering the core theme files as it will be impossible for you to get the theme updates in future as it will mess-up or else you need to use child theme if you want to hard customize the theme
