Using Artist Categories on Artist Template Page

I haven’t seen an option that allows you to select a category for display when using the Artist Template under Page Attributes. For example, if you only want artists from the “rock” category to show on your Artists page.

Currently, every artist entered is displayed when viewing the page.

Is it possible to specify the category? Such functionality would be extremely useful.
