How can I limit the categories that show up under the Recent Posts widget? Right now, it’s pulling them all. But I only want the categories that show up on my actual blog.

Recent Post Widget is used to display the recent posts not the categories. You can limit the posts by entering “Number of posts to show” in the Recent Post Widget.

But if you want to display categories, then you have to go for Categories Widget, there you can limit the categories.
