If I limit the number of sermons being shown on the main sermons page to “5” or any other number, is there an option for a “next page” link that lists the next 5 sermons and then so on and so forth?

Yes you can do it from theme options panel, church settings > sermon limit text field you can specify the number how many sermons you want to show & if u want to show the pagination then enable the sermons pagination checkbox.
