I’d like to add a search box on the home page of the website. Preferably at the topper if possible. How could I do this? Is there a short-code?
search box option work only on inner pages.
You can alter the header.php file and customise that. But only if you are using child theme then it would be good and right to do customisation otherwise you will loose that whenever you updated the theme.

You can use the following code for the search option where you wish to display the search

I addd the code <?php get_search_form( $echo ); ?> in the child-theme header but nothing is being displayed on the front page. Is this code correct?
Never mind I created a shortcode in the theme functions and added it to the top bar.
