    i.e. http://www.meetthedjs.org/artist/dj-showtime/
    becomes http://www.meetthedjs.org/dj/dj-showtime/

I’ve found the setting for new posts in create_artistpost_type() from artists.php, but changing the slug in there (I’m guessing) only affects new artists and breaks the links to all the old ones.

Do not alter ‘artists.php’ file you can change the name here..
theme options panel ->general section -> ‘Artist Slug’ .
where you can rename ‘artist’ slug to ‘dj’ ,then save theme options and permalinks. once you save the changes then the slug option will take effect to all the atrists.

Ah, I see I was suffering under an outdated version! OK, now I’m running 2.5, have changed the slug and clicked “Save all changes” at the bottom. Am I missing a step? I did this yesterday, and still my URLs say /artist/name instead of /DJ/name. However, when I type /DJ/name into the url bar, it DOES redirect me to the correct page with the /artist/ slug… so progress of a sort, I guess?

Sadly, this did not work. I even tried changing the permalink to one of the other default formats for a day to see if it would magically help the site forget the slug was ever “artist.” As soon as I changed it back to /%postname%/, the links became /artist/name once again. Any suggestions? Note: Typing the URL /dj/name DOES still redirect to /artist/name, so the new slug is being remembered and associated SOMEWHERE.
