The homepage slider is showing up on my blog page. I want it to display on the static front page that I set in the wp reading settings. How can I make it so the slider appears on my homepage rather than my blog page.

Also, when the slider initializes, the content is on top of the image slider. It doesn’t fix itself until the second slide goes.

You need to setup the homepage from theme options panel not as you do with normal wordpress>settings>reading. Then your frontpage slider will appear. Kindly leave it as empty for the frontpage in settings>reading.
