Please. I have never had a layout or a theme elongate the image. This is not the issue. The issue is the display and the css rule written to portray it. The images I put up are 5000px in width. STOP writing off complaints or concerns about this theme as a another issue.
I think you have used some plugin to resize images or so which impacts the image layout in vertical instead of horizontal.
If you can provide us WP Logins to your website with URL then we can take a closer look at it and let you know what mistake you have done. It is not about the CSS issue you can check out the live demo that how images are displayed. Make sure you set the post as a private reply so that only admin can see your wp-logins. Note: Before providing the wp-login to any support staff, kindly please make sure you take a backup of everything including WordPress content, theme options, widgets etc.
