Can you direct me on where I can change the date display for the events to l, F j (Friday, April 11) instead of yy-mm-dd? I’ve tried adjusting in events-meta.php but no luck.

If you wish to change in the template then open musicband/template_events.php and change in the below shown line

    $event_date = date_i18n('M-d-Y', $eventdate);

If you wish to change in the different places like single events page then you can do that from wordpress>settings>general – Date Format

Sorry my mistake I have written in the wrong theme as its linofeast i pointed you to musicplay theme. Nevertheless it can be done by setting from your wordpress > settings > general tab. But this feature isn’t there in the theme. I will add this and update the theme today.

    Regards

Thanks. I had already set this in the WP settings but could not find this change appearing in the theme itself.

Opening this topic back up as I still haven’t seen a fix related to event display order by ascending (originally posted the same issue in 2014). I’ve used the “order” field and it still won’t display in ascending OR descending order, nor can I find an option to set ascending display by event date. The only way I’ve ever been able to order events is to change the published date of the custom post. This is not a good solution as more than one person updates live music events every month and figuring out the published dates used on the older events in order to publish newer events even further back for proper order is a pain and just bad form.

Sorry to say this, your support time is expired. You need to repurchase the license in order to extend the support for the theme. But I can answer your question for one time because as it is the older issue which is not yet been resolved.
You can set the order in Theme Options/Linofeast Options/Events Order(Select the order which you wish to display in Albums Page Template).

Support time renewed. I don’t seem to have “Events Order” in the Linofeast Options. I AM using the child theme and it shows up as Linofeast Child Theme Version 1.7. Is it a fairly seamless process to update the child theme and import the previous child theme options?

You can set the Events Order and Orderby options in your child theme or parent theme options. Have a look at the screenshot provided below.
After doing this if you don’t achieve then provide us WP Logins to your website with URL then we can take a closer look at it and we can fix the issue because it’s working fine at my end. Make sure you set the post as private reply so that only admin can see your wp-logins.

Unfortunately, I do not show the exact same screen. My child theme version is 1.7 but the framework is updated to 2.0.

I decided to go ahead and install the parent and child theme latest zips all over again while backing up the old folders.

The site is now a bit of a mess so I’m now stuck trying to recreate the previous layout. I DO see the event order settings within the theme options. I just have to fix the layout.

The classes for month | day | year are incorrectly assigned for the carousel display. The class for year is actually assigned to “month”, month is classed as “day”, etc. See image. Even though in the child theme options I’ve indicated a 05/27/2016 format, neither the carousel date or event detail date is showing that order. The carousel shows the display as year first… though the CLASS shows the proper order as month/day/year. Odd.

Also note in the attached image that the first item in the carousel list is missing the date. Note sure why that is. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I have seen that events order and orderby are working fine. And for the carousel events shortcode, it is also working fine. I have created a “test page” for you to check. Kindly have a look at the test page and if you still have anymore issues then you can reply here. we will be there to assist you.

Excellent! Thanks. Now to switch around the date CSS styling a bit. 🙂

Can there be more than two event carousels per page? I used to have an additional event category, but it no longer displays using the shortcode. See homepage “Weekly Fun” or even the “Fresh Events Test” page that has both “Happenings” and the “Live Music” categories.

There are no posts assigned to the category “Happenings”. Also you have not specified any dates to the category “Happenings”. You have not published so many of the events posts. So many are in draft status. Kindly do all these then you won’t get any issues.
