Hi Maqk,

I’d like if possible to be able to just write text in the event date.
Say I have an offer every Thursday, I want to be able to put in the date Every Thursday, set the time from 1pm to 10pm.
Or, to have a tick box, repeat event every Thursday… is this possible please?

Sorry it’s not possible to put the text and not possible to repeat the event in the current version as its not there.

Yes its possible to add this feature, but we need time to test this. Once its done you will get notify of this feature.

That will be great, as some events will roll every week and it’s annoying to add them manually.

Yes we are adding some new features to event post type:

Single Day Event.
Multiple Day Event.
Every Week Same Day.
Every Month Same Date.
Every Year Same Date.

It will take time to built this kind features.

Hi guys, any updates to the Event Post type options?

I need to be able have separate event types or be able to pull them separately by categories into a widget or even page.

• Daily event – same day of the week, same time – no end time, no location or no venue as it’s in the same restaurant. So a Monday event/special, Tuesday event/special, etc. I am currently using this on the event carousel, but unable to display teaser text or description.
• Live Music events – usually every Friday and Saturday night, planned up to two months in advance, same location, same venue but diff floor, same times.
• Event Widget – by category – Would like to display the Live Music or Daily events posts on the main sidebar for different pages of the site instead of recent posts.
• Event pages by category – Would like to have a Live Music event page and also a Daily event page. Two totally separate areas of the restaurant with different hours and food menus. Is there a shortcode to only pull one category of events to show up and still be able to use the Event template?

Teaser or post description?
I need to be able to run the event carousel on the front but with an actual text field – description or teaser – instead of the date, end time or location. When I comment out the date field I get an “Array” text that shows up instead. Date is gone, but apparently something has to show up there. Happy to edit a file(s) to show one or the other text field and remove the end time/location fields if you can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Customize template?
I’ve been digging and looking to see if I can easily create a second event template that will only pull Live music category posts, and then adjusting the main event template to only pull the daily events category posts. The biggest concern I have here is making sure when template updates come out, that these can also be updated without losing the category customization.

Use Plugins for event category widget instead?
Also looking into posts plugins that allow you to select specific categories to feature instead of the “recent posts” or “popular posts” option that comes default to WP and to the LinoFeast theme.

Any suggestions, updates or advice appreciated. This particular restaurant client has a restaurant, brewery and brew pub all-in-one venue.

As said earlier we are working on events post type and its not yet created and when its done we will for sure you add the features as mentioned below

Single Day Event.
Multiple Day Event.
Every Week Same Day.
Every Month Same Date.
Every Year Same Date.

We are focusing on mainly compatible for all themes not just for musicplay. Once its up and running we will see the tweaks etc.
