I would like to disable the gallery in the Hopes theme so that I can use a different gallery plugin. How can I go about doing this?
If you are saying about gallery posttype, then you can’t disable the posttype. You just comment this line require_once(THEME_POSTTYPE . '/gallery.php'); in functions.php. So that the posttype won’t show up.
require_once(THEME_POSTTYPE . '/gallery.php');
