Hi,

I do not understand why when I attribute the news page as page articles (Admin > Reading) I loose the template I have chosen earlier (Blog Template 2).
It will be good if the new template were without any display bugs, but it is too wired because I do not select any sidebar in the blog page I’ve got and I see all like if I was on mobile event the sidebar I didn’t choose.

Is there any chance to have “blog template v2” even I select “page articles” in WP ?

We see that you set the post reading from admin by which the wordpress by default takes archive.php not the blog template you wish to use. If you wish to set that page archive reading then you can do same coding as blog page template 2 in the archive.php coding and you can replicate that in your child theme.

Hi Mawk,

I’ve copied “template_blog_small.php” into the child theme and renamed it “archive.php”, then I’ve set the page as “articles page” in WP : not working for me.

You were doing wrong.After replacing the page you don’t need to attribute the page to blog template 2 again. I have made it default template and now it works fine.

I just removed that page from the reading option in adding and added the attribute as a blog template 2 style and its working fine please check now.

I know that from the beginning and I want to keep the structure : “Home / News page / Blog article” for the breadcrumb, without the reading option it’s not possible.

Hi Fem,

It’s good for the breadcrumb because I added a category named “Actualités”, it’s not the real path.
Click on “Actualités” and you’ll see that you are on “Archive : Actualités” not inside the news page.

I just want News page to be a news page declared in WP and style have the same template as now.
