Hello,

I need a custom template to be loaded for my custom post type “program”.

Normally wordpress automatically gets the custom template by naming it as: single-{post_type}.php
So in my case it’s single-program.php

Now it doesnt get the custom template and i was wondering what is the right way to accomplish this?

If you can provide us WP Logins to your website with URL then we can take a closer look at it. Make sure you set the post as private reply so that only admin can see your wp-logins.

Make sure you put the single-program.php file in the parent as it doesn’t supports child theme i think. If it still doesn’t works out then you need to get help from who created that program post type.
