Advanced custom field and custom template

Hello,

I need a custom template to be loaded for my custom post type “program”.

Normally wordpress automatically gets the custom template by naming it as: single-{post_type}.php
So in my case it’s single-program.php

Now it doesnt get the custom template and i was wondering what is the right way to accomplish this?
