Hi, I am having a similar issue that others have posted about. When I try to access MusicPlay theme options all I get is a spinning wheel and “Loading Theme Options” text.
When I tried to update MusicPlay to the latest version, all of the styling I applied to my site disappeared and my site was unrecognizable. I am using a Child theme but it still broke my website when I updated the theme version. I have since reverted to a backup so I am back at square one.
Can someone please log in to my WP admin dashboard to troubleshoot this issue. If updating to a new version of the theme is necessary to get the theme options menu to load again I am willing to update, but only if it will not break my website again. Please advise.
Hi mikedutkewych,
If you can provide us WP Logins to your website with a URL then we can take a closer look at it. Make sure you set the post as a private reply so that only the admin can see your wp-logins.
Note: Before providing the wp-login to any support staff, kindly please make sure you take a backup of everything including WordPress content, theme options, widgets etc.
You are using the very older version of the theme. You need to get the updated version of the theme and it will be fixed. Make sure you take a full/complete backup of your theme, wordpress, databases, content and images before you make a major update as i see you are using 5.0 version of musicplay and current version is 11.1
I noticed one more thing that your support is expired so I can’t make a fix for the current site as well. If you wish to solve this issue you need to first extend your license and I will solve only the theme options loading issue. If you wish to update the theme to the latest version then you need to extend the support and Pay $100 extra for the updating of the theme to the latest version.
Hi, I can pay to renew support. However, I already have purchased a license for the theme through Themeforest (purchase code: c50c87b3-62c8-462d-bd31-95505d778f2c). I have downloaded the latest version (version 11 from 2020-12-23). Why would I have to pay an additional $100 for a version I have already licensed and have downloaded from Themeforest?
Since I have the updated theme version, please confirm that you will be able to apply it to my site and fix my theme options problem after I have renewed my support license.
Hi, is anyone going to respond to this thread?
@mikedutkewych – Theme options problem was fixed in the latest versions I don’t need to fix it again. Once you update your theme options issue will be fixed automatically. But make sure you take a backup of your site completely so that if something goes wrong you can restore it back to the running version.
Regards
Maqk
Hi Maqk,
As I stated in the original post, when I tried to update my theme to the latest version, it broke my website:
When I tried to update MusicPlay to the latest version, all of the styling I applied to my site disappeared and my site was unrecognizable. I am using a Child theme but it still broke my website when I updated the theme version. I have since reverted to a backup so I am back at square one.
If I update my support license, will someone on this forum be able to update the theme properly so that the styling and other modifications already in place on my website do not disappear? Because if so, I will gladly pay to update my support license.
I’m sure you might have updated only parent theme not the child theme. You need to update both parent and child theme and it will work for sure. Make sure you take a backup and give it a try again. IF that still doesn’t works then let me know so that I can take a closer look at it.
Fem, you are correct. I only updated the parent theme. If I update the child theme as well, won’t I lose all my customizations?
Make sure you take a backup before updating and change things specially in child theme you have added your custom css i think so just copy your styles which you have modified and then place it in the new style.css file. Once again take a backup and do things.
Hi Fem, I finally got an opportunity to try this and I was able to update the theme and child version with the 11.0 version. Some of my formatting was still lost but not the whole site like happened the last time. You were correct, I just needed to update both versions. I consider this to be resolved. Thank you for your assistance.
