For the sidewidget recent post thumbnails are shown wrong (see pic attached). Anytime I visit a https page, the footer and the sidewidget looks bad, but on a regular page (non https) it looks ok. Please let me know what I need to do so that the thumbnail will look normal and well.

If you can provide us WP Logins to your website with URL then we can take a closer look at it. Make sure you set the post as private reply so that only admin can see your wp-logins.

Is there a way to do this without login credentials? where should I look for and apply fix (recentpost.php) ?

We will take a closer look into our theme and see if there is a bug. We will make a quick update for the theme soon as the theme desperately needs an update to the current version of the WordPress.

We have crosschecked and its working fine at our end. We have released a new version of the theme on 29th June 2015, So kindly please update the theme to the latest version and let me know if the problem still persist.
