Go to yor Themeforest account and then navigate to downloads section and click on download button of the Musicplay Theme and download the package ‘Installation WordPress Theme’ file which contains only theme files no PSD files are included in this file.

If you download the full package you can find the Themefiles directory from which you can find the latest version released folder says example 2.0. in that you can find the relevant theme folder. It depends on how you wish to update the theme via FTP Cllient or WordPress Theme updates method.

Before you update the theme everytime you need to backup your current theme folder. Take a backup of your modified files first and make a note of what changes you did in the files so that you can replace the altered code later as it will get replaced when you update the theme. If you are using the child theme then you don’t have to worry as you can simple replace the parent theme folder without any hesitation.

If you wish you can also take backup of your theme options from Appearance > Theme Options > Import/Export
Upload via FTP

Go to wp-content > themes location and backup your theme ‘musicplay’ folder by saving it to your local computer hard drive, or you can choose to simply delete it. You will not loose any of your content or posts.
Retrieve the musicplay.zip file from your new Themeforest download and extract the file to get the musicplay theme folder.
Then simply drag and drop the new musicplay theme folder into wp-content > themes location. Choose if it prompts to Replace the current one if you did not delete the exisiting one.

Added:If you are using the child theme then you need to make sure you take a backup of the child theme as well and then update the files and we will not update anything in the child theme style.css file. Only version number will be changed in the style.css file of the child theme.

If required we will make a modification in child theme and for that we will make log of which file modified in the child theme as well.

Hi MAQK,
I have updated the theme but in the admin section theme options will not load now?

All i get is loading theme options but it’s stuck on that and will not load?

Hi There,
I have a big problem. I don’t have FTP acces from my client and I can’t update the theme this way. Also I can’t backup theme files. In Admin Panel-Appearance-Themes I have only “Add New Theme”. When I click MusicPlay I don’t have the option to update.

How can I update the theme in this conditions?

@blockworkz – create your own topic for questions and support as this is only topic for how to update the theme. Anyway I see that you need to enable the Ajax feature from Musicplay > Theme Options > General and check the box where it says Ajax / No-Ajax Theme and save changes.

Hi there,

i have updated MusicPlay´s last version on 8th January 2015.

Please, Maqk made for me some code changes and i need to recover them to add to this new updated. He also made me to install MusicPlay Child instead of Music Play theme. Which one should i install?

The most important, does this versión prevents mp3 downloadings??

I saw that you have activated the child theme.
If you are using the child theme, child theme css will be overridden. Otherwise, parent theme css will work.

Dear Support,

I have followed your instructions to upload my musicplay theme through FTP in order to update my theme.

However, it seems like nothing happened after I upload it.

I am trying to update from version 3.3.0 to 4.0.0

Since I am using a child theme, according to your instructions, all I need to do is replace the parent theme (which is what i did, but nothing happened)

When i login and i goto the Musicplay admin section, it still said 3.3.0

Please advise.

Its updated but the version is not there in the release as we forgot to change the version number in style.css file from 3.3.0 to 4.0.0.

I update from V 284 to 600 and now the player radio player don’t play on IE11 –
On google chrome works fine
I roll back to the old version and works fine, right now my website is running with the new version but the player is not working – any idea how can I fix this issue?

@purepense Rollback to the old version and use the old version. The new version player might not work in the legacy browsers.

We have been saying to everyone that support time expired users will be able to post their questions and login to support forum but we can’t give support to the users whose support time is expired. Kindly purchase the support extension and we can give you support and answer your questions.

I understand that, you may need ad a note every time you post an update  This update may not work with your settings, we are not able to answer your question if you support expire.

I receive your notice about this update without any warning information – I buy this software on 02/20/15 and now I have to pay for support again because the update doesn’t work with my settings.

I have some questions.
I need buy support 2 times a year if I like keep using your theme?

If I’m new customer and I buy your theme but this theme doesn’t work with legacy browsers Internet Explorer 11, do you offer money back ?

@purepense – We have tested in IE11 and it seems to be working fine at our end.

If we stop giving support on IE11 we will make a note definitely that this version may not work with IE11 but as of now its working fine.
