How can I change the background color of my theme elements? Things like the slider arrows, the accordion +/-, ect.

I’ve when through the “color” section in “theme options” and am unable to change the color. Please advise.

you can change all at once by choosing Theme Color in theme options panel. But for individual elements that’s good idea. We will implement that in the next update.
