main side bar / custom one

Hum

Until now : I had the original “main side bar” used for the first page ! I didn’t find where you can change/choose the main page side bar any way..

..the other pages have a custom side bar !

It all worked fine. Until now : My main page uses now the custom side bar I made and I don’t have any clues why…!

Only big change I made is redirecting the whole website on a new short domain name ! But I dont guess it is because of that :

Could you already tell me where I am supposed to be able to choose the side bar for the main page ?

Oki I identified the issue :

The main page side bar is choosen from the last post side bar !

I changed for the test all the post side bars, and at the end, it had an influence on the main page !

Is it possible to have a sidebar customisation for the “plain” main page, different from when we click on a post to read it ? thank you !

Well to make it short (and already big thanks for all your previous answers !!! 🙂 )

– where can I chose the sidebar I want for the “main page” ?

If you answer this, I can resolve my problem 🙂

PS : I am not talking about choosing the “widgets” for it, but only where can I “select” a specific side bar for the “main page” !
My opinion right now is that it is simply “linked” to the “last post” (for which you can choose a sidebar !)

You can select a sidebar from page options below your WordPress content editor. If you don’t choose custom sidebar then it will take main sidebar as default sidebar.

Am I correct if I say the “if” I choose a “custom side bar B” for the last “post”, the “main page” will display “not the main sidebar” but the “custom sidebar B” from that same last post ?

If it is the case, then I have a problem.

I want my Main page with a side bar “A”. And my posts with a side bar “B”.

Lets take an example :

1. Main page : http://horizon42.dreamhosters.com/

Objective : a sidebar “A”, “without” the flash player”. Result : ok.

2. Random Post : http://horizon42.dreamhosters.com/40/

Objective : a sidebar “B”, “WITH” the flash player”. Result : ok.

Issue :

3. Last Post : http://horizon42.dreamhosters.com/horizon-42-se-branche-sur-star-citizen/

Objective : a sidebar “B”, “WITH” the flash player. Result ? NEGATIVE.

Why ? Because if I choose for this one a sidebar “B”, “with” the Flash Player, the “Main page” (point 1) ALSO will show it. (when I don’t want it to show it 🙂 )
So I choose the “Side bar A” to be sure that the main page display correctly !

So : is it possible to “manualy” impose a side bar for the main page ??

As i said if you can communicate with Skype then i can resolve your issues.
